Kia Action

Kia will pursue Environmentally - positive economic activities and fulfil our social responsibility to contribute towards mankind's happiness and sustainable society.

Green Economy: Does it include YOU?

The 2012 theme for World Environment Day was Green Economy: Does it include you? In fact, the Green Economy is really something that is applicable all around you.

Kia Motors also shares this thought with UNEP, so we decided to fulfill our vision as an environmentally friendly company by donating Kia’s eco-friendly vehicles including the Rio to UNEP WED challenge. Through continued exchanges and engagement with society, we strive to safeguard a sustainable future to realize sustained growth.

The UN Environment Programme defines the Green Economy as one that results in improved human well-being and social equity, while significantly reducing environmental risks and ecological scarcities.

"Through participation in environmental partnerships such as with UNEP we aim to support steadfast efforts to solve global environmental challenges.

In 2012, the ‘Green Economy’ theme strongly resonated with our core environmental management objectives of achieving low carbon emissions, resource efficiency and placing the environment at the forefront of all our business activities.” Soon-Nam Lee, Director of Overseas Marketing, Kia Motors Corporation.

On Feb 22, 2012 KIA Motors Donated Fuel-Efficient Cars for Global Competition to Mark WED and UNEP's 40th Anniversary.
