About Essendon Football Club

Nicknamed “The Bombers”, Essendon Football Club is a Melbourne based Australian Rules Football Club that has been in action since 1873 and joined the Victorian Football Association in 1878.

In 1891 they won the first of 4 consecutive VFA premierships and then joining the VFL as a foundation club in 1897, winning their first VFL premiership.

With a rich history woven into Aussie Rules tapestry, Essendon continue to be a club that stands proud as one of the oldest and most famous of all sporting clubs in Australia.

Essendon have won 20 premierships (4 Association, 16 League) making them the most successful club in the competition.

From their headquarters at True Value Solar Centre, the team continues to grow their national presence as a team built around youthful excitement and the willingness to compete.

Whether they are playing at home or away, from ball-up The Bombers always show pure dedication until the final play is finished.
