Kia is delighted to support people and organisations that make the community proud. Our Ambassador Program endorses people and organisations that have made a remarkable contribution to their local communities and country. Through this program we hope to inspire the next generation of champions on the sporting field and in the community, leading to a better future for our youth.

Kia Motors Australia has thrown 8-seat support behind Dr Chris O'Brien's Lifehouse at RPA by providing the organisation with a Kia Grand Carnival.

'Lifehouse' is a benevolent not for profit organisation which was established in 2009 to support the Sydney Cancer Centre, which looks after more than 2,000 patients each year.

The Lifehouse Kia Carnival will play an instrumental operations role, transporting patients of the Sydney Cancer Centre to and from their home.

Many of the 2,000 patients live relatively close to the hospital but are either elderly or simply unable to drive.

"Our research indicates that some of our patients miss out on treatment, due largely to transport issues," said Brent Cubis, Lifehouse CFO. "Kia's generosity will enable a larger number of people to receive the treatment they need, people who are otherwise dependant on public transport or assistance from family and friends."

When former rugby league second-rower turned breakfast radio personality Mark Geyer isn't busy waking up Australian radio listeners on Triple M's The Grill Team, he's busy playing sports and enjoying the outdoors with his wife and five kids.

This balance between a busy work life and big family life makes Mark the ideal ambassador for Kia's tough new seven seat all-wheel drive Sorento.

Mark Ella

Considered one of Australia's all-time greatest rugby union players, Mark Ella earned 25 caps in a brief but brilliant career stretching from 1980 to 1984. And in 2005 he was honoured by being inducted into the Australian Rugby Union Hall of Fame.

Now living on the Central Coast of NSW, Mark's brilliant career makes him the ideal ambassador for the Kia Sorento.

VCCRI

Since its foundation in 1994, The Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (VCCRI) has grown to now employ more than 13 full-time scientific staff that conduct research into the prevention of heart disease. They are a leader in adult stem cell technologies and their potential application to the treatment of cardiovascular disease.

Kia is proud to support the VCCRI and all the good work they are doing to address all forms of heart disease, which causes more than 200 deaths per week in Australia, and is the number one cause for hospital admission for people over 65 years.

SIDS and Kids

SIDS and Kids provide bereavement support for individuals and families who experience the death of their baby or young child during pregnancy, birth or infancy. This includes miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal death, sudden infant death (SIDS) and the death of a child up to 6 years of age.

Over the last 14 years SIDS and Kids has been instrumental in reducing the infant mortality rate by around 85% through its Safe Sleeping Program.  More recently it has broadened its programs to support families and the community following stillbirth and the sudden and unexpected death of infants and young children regardless of the cause.

The SIDS and Kids ACT, Hunter & NSW offices utilise Kia Souls to help run their programs, services and outreach.

Health Promotion Manager of SIDS and Kids NSW, Margaret McSpedden, says that research tells them that parents who have experienced the unimaginable loss of their baby or young child are best supported in a comfortable and familiar environment.

"The generous provision of these six cars from Kia enables counsellors and education staff from SIDS and Kids ACT, Hunter & NSW to more effectively support bereaved parents in their homes," Ms McSpedden said.

Meals on Wheels

Meals on Wheels are at the heart of many communities in New South Wales. 35,000 volunteers deliver 4.5 million meals to 15,000 clients across the state.

The NSW Meals on Wheels Association offers more than just meals, as their volunteers provide daily social interaction which enables frail older people and younger people with disabilities and their carers to stay in their own homes.

Kia is proud to name NSW Meals on Wheels as a Kia Ambassador and has donated five Kia Grand Carnivals to help deliver meals to people every day.

Kia Motorvation

Kia Motors Australia and internationally-lauded driver training organisation, Motorvation, have strengthened and expanded their co-operative determination to provide young Australian drivers with the best possible start to a safe driving experience.

Through Kia Young Drivers (KYDz) the program has been taken to select Victorian school students for the past two years, introducing learner-age and P-Plate drivers to a concept of a safe and sensible life behind the wheel.

This year through an increase in support, an adoption of highly-sophisticated simulator teaching technology, and a change of corporate name, the young driver program will reach more than 4000 young drivers in Victoria and NSW under the Kia Motorvation banner.

The Mobile Training Centre will bring a pair of high-technology simulators – complete with realistic hydraulic movement - to a variety of centres and give the students "real world" experience through bespoke software scenarios.

During the course professional and entertaining presenters provide a combination of focussed discussion and hands-on driving, guiding young drivers to understand that driving is a function of two parts: their attitude or driving behaviour, and their action or skills and knowledge.
