Kia's all-new Sorento is continuing to impress the critics, adding the OzRoamer magazine 7-Seat AWD SUV over $60,000 award to a growing trophy cabinet.
A previous two-time winner of the OzRoamer under $60,000 Car Of The Year award, the all-new and improved Sorento stepped up to the plate to smash a home run in its first visit to the Over $60,000 category.
"The Kia Sorento has an unfair advantage with its luxury and value proposition," OzRoamer COTY judge Anthony Hood said. "It should be at the top of the buyers’ lists for an honest and practical family AWD SUV."
Kia Motors Australia Chief Operating Officer, Damien Meredith, said the continued recognition of Sorento was a strong endorsement, not only for the car but for the Kia brand.
"The growing recognition of Kia as a segment-best manufacturer through awards from industry experts is not only exciting from a product viewpoint, but it is a strong indication of Kia's growing brand presence and recognition," Mr Meredith said.
"We have known for some time how good our products are. That is now being recognized by a widening range of industry commentators."
"The quality of the product, coupled to an industry-best 7-year warranty; capped price servicing and constantly improving customer service is putting Kia front of mind for an increasing number of new car buyers."
In praising the Sorento, OzRoamer judges pointed to the SUV's "surprising" off-road ability which will provide "heaps of off-road fun for the family".
"One major improvement with the Sorento is the suspension package which was exclusively designed in Australia for Australian conditions and this was evident on the test," OzRoamer said.
Since its launch last year the Sorento has already been awarded Cars Guide's outright Car Of The Year, won the Drive Best Family SUV category and Behind The Wheel's Car Of The Year.
